Oscars: Will Smith slaps Chris Rock over Jada Pinkett Smith joke

The 94th annual Academy Awards took a wild turn Sunday night.

During the awards show, Chris Rock was presenting an award when he made fun of Will Smith’s wife Jada Punct Smith.

It was reported that after being joked about the sequel to “GI Jane” and Panket Smith’s bald head, Smith became very angry and headed for the rock, slapping him in the face before returning to his seat. ۔

He then started screaming at the rock, even though the Oscar livestream had silenced him. “Get my wife’s name out of your mouth,” Smith allegedly said.

Panket Smith has spoken openly about her struggle with hair loss.

Oscar host Amy Schumer asked Zelensky to be able to “satellite in or tape” for the awards show.

The Dolby Theater was shocked, as was Rock, as he struggled to regain his train of thought after the encounter.

According to a spectator who participated in Sunday’s show, “Everyone in the mezzanine stood to see what was happening – everyone was amazed.” You can hear the pin drop. Everyone was looking at each other, ‘Is this really happening?’

“Chris Rock is stunned,” Insider added to People magazine.

Rock and Smith’s representatives at the academy did not immediately respond to a request for comment by Fox News.

Sean “Daddy” Coombs took the stage a short time later and said: “Will and Chris, we’re going to settle it as a family at the Gold Party.” Cameras then panned Smith, who was seen laughing and clapping.

Following the incident, Smith won the Best Actor award on Sunday evening for his performance in “King Richard”. Smith’s tears flowed as he spoke of his acceptance.

“I want to apologize to the academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees,” he said. “It’s a beautiful moment and I’m not crying to win an award. It’s not about winning an award for me, it’s about shedding light on all people.”

“Love will drive you crazy,” Smith added.
