Several parts of India have experienced unexpected temperatures in the first few weeks of February

The temperature has been ranging between 35 to 39 degrees Celsius

The sudden jump in temperature is being attributed to the absence of any active western disturbance

Also, a dry spell prevailing over the plains along with a subdued rainfall and snowfall over hills

The high temperatures in February have also been triggered by an anti-cyclone over south Gujarat

This higher day temperature might lead to an adverse effect on wheat
