Poco X5 Pro 5G Review in 10 Points

Design The POCO X5 Pro 5G has a frosty glass on the back with a small camera bump. Also, it is a sleek phone with 7.9mm in thickness and 181 grams.

Display The 6.6" OLED FHD+ display comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The viewing experience is immersive with life-like colours and deep blacks. It is Widevine L1 certified too.

Rear Camera In terms of optics, the device houses a 108MP+8MP+2MP triple camera setup on the rear. The images look good in sunny and bright environments and capture ample detail. That said, the HDR over-saturates the colours and make the images more likeable and social media-ready.

The front-facing 16MP sensor of the phone captures selfies with good facial detailing and accurate skin tones in broad daylight. The portrait mode, however, isn't as precise and has some trouble with edge detection.

Hardware The POCO X5 Pro 5G has a Snapdragon 778G SoC paired with Adreno 642L GPU and 6GB/ 8GB of RAM + 3GB of virtual RAM. As for the storage, the device offers up to 256GB non-expandable storage. In daily usage, the handset does not heat up and handles mostly everything thrown at it.

Software The latest custom skin of MIUI, i.e., MIUI 14 is running alongside the slightly outdated Android 12 OS on the device. It does not have any ads but there are a few pre-installed apps, that can be uninstalled. That said, most of the MIUI 14 features are missing.

Battery The POCO X5 Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery. It can easily last a day between charges, with usage involving going through emails, checking Slack, streaming an episode or two of a web series, playing games, and browsing.

Charging speed The X5 Pro supports 67W fast charging. It can charge the device from 0-100% in 45 minutes.

Extra Features > Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection

> IP53 rating

> IR Blaster > Supports seven 5G bands

Verdict The POCO X5 Pro 5G, despite its age-old chipset, does not disappoint at all with its performance. It even offers a good viewing experience with its rich AMOLED screen and stereo speakers, while the cameras are decent too. However, the battery life isn't that great , but the 67W fast charging compensates for it .
